Nov 2nd and 3rd was a special weekend of racing. We held race 4 and 5 of the Janet Stamper Fall Series along with the Bluenose Regatta. We had clear skies and moderate northwesterly winds on Saturday and 4 races averaging aprox. 45 minutes per race. Then it was off to the club for hot soup, pasta with meat balls, salad , deserts and great conversations with fellow racers. Sunday looked to be a bit of a drifter to the race committee and after many hours of waiting for perfect conditions we had a start and completed one race before the 1400 hr time restriction. Results .. For the Kitsilano Yacht Club Bluenose Regatta congratulations to  3rd place Tyranical – Kent Wickens and Will Jopson. 2nd place Pinnical – Ted Sharplin and Danny Genossar. 1st place Red Bull – Josh Larsen and Greg Larsen.

Our Fleet enjoyed the company and competition of Josh and Greg Larsen on board Redbull from Tacoma Fleet 8. We have had a lot of interest from Josh to join us racing in the last few years and we are so glad Josh and his father Greg were able to compete in this event. We look forward to racing with them in Tacoma or Bellingham or Vancouver next year for a few events early in the season and also when Fleet 8 hosts the Class Championships in Tacoma in the summer.

The Janet Stamper Spring and Fall Series are combined for the overall winner. For the Spring Series in 3rd place was Osiris , 2nd place Pinnical and 1st place Magical. For the Fall Series 3rd place Pinnical , 2nd place Osiris and 1st place Magical . Combined net scores Spring and Fall… Congrats to 3rd place Osiris 67 points , 2nd place Pinnical 63 points and 1st place Magical 41 Points. A total of 10 race days and 19 races.

It was a great season and a challenge for many in the fleet to attend all the raced days. We had La Galatea mia for most of the year due to a mast / rigging failure others with work challenges and 2 broken tillers that disrupted some race days. 2020 will be a better year with all boats back in shape. Most of our fleet now have road trailers that make travel to other racing venues possible in the coming years.

The Kitsilano Yacht Club  awards dinner is Sat Nov. 23rd. Plan to be there and support your fleet and Club. It’s always a great event.

Cheers
