It was the final for the Spring Series but many more races to follow throughout the year. The first 2 races we had 5 – 10 knot winds but the 3rd race was a real drifter floating along watching the windex casually dance around the masthead.  The winds were those shifty south easterlies switching to southerlies intermittently throughout the day with a flood that added to the challenges.

In the end, some prevailed where others failed and led to a very good day for Osiris. Congrats to Steve and Ed Chessor for 3 bullits ! They were unbeatable.

Overall results for the Spring Series – Congrats to Pinnical – First Place , Magical – Second Place and Osiris Third Place. Results are posted on the racing page.

Our next big event is the Canadian Championships July 7th and 8th. KYC is hosting the Canadian Championships and we hope to see everyone out there for this event. We will have some of our friends from Tacoma joining in and we really look forward to them enjoying some Canadian hospitality. We have had some great racing and parties with the Tacoma fleet over the last 4 or 5 years and would love to build this event into a regular fleet challenge where we reciprocate back and forth on a yearly event. We are only 3 or 4 hours away from each other so it’s not a big challenge if we plan ahead.

We are planning on a phrf race to the north shore – stop for lunch and race back for the Fleet 38 Championships this summer so stay tuned. It will be white sails or Spinnaker.  ‘

If there are any that would like to have a fleet sail to Snug Cove and have a barbecue in the Union Station Tower we can arrange for that as well. We have done that in the past and it was a great sail and social event. We barbecued and had pot luck salads etc. and BYOB. Looking forward to this as we can bring family and friends.

If anyone has suggestions as to any events we could plan please let me know. We have a great club and need to promote and build.

Best Regards

Kerry Brann – Fleet 38 Captain
